Description

La Cabra is the bike that ticks a lot of boxes for folks, but doesn’t easily fit info any industry category.  Is it a mountain bike?  Is it a bikepacking bike?  Is it a monstercross plus bike?  Is it a bike with multiple personalities?  The answer to those questions and more is yes.  Yes, this is the bike that can pretty much be whatever you want it to be.  How will you build your La Cabra and where will you ride it?  It’s the bike you didn’t know you need.

Fork Straight 1 1/8″ steerer, 350mm long
Bottom Bracket BSA threaded, 73mm width
Crankset Compatibility Non-boost 1x is ideal up to 34t. Anything wider, like Boost, is compatible. 2x mountain in boost and non-boost is compatible up to 38t large.
Front Derailleur 34.9mm, Shimano side-swing is optimal for 2x. If running a 2x with 29″ tire, it’s especially important to use a side-swing derailleur or one with minimal linkage width. Use a low-clamp mount.

Dropper Compatibility Internally routed housing, optimized for 100mm – 120mm travel based on correct frame size
Brake Compatibility IS mounts front and rear. Use post mount calipers with IS to Post mount adapters. +20 adapters front and rear to use 180mm front / 160mm rear rotor. If you have Flat mount calipers, this adapter is what you will need.
Rotor Front min/max = 160/180. Rear min/max = 140/180
Hub Spacing Boost 110mm x 15mm front, 148mm x 12mm rear
Front Thru Axle 15mm x 1.5mm thread pitch, overall length 130mm, included w/ frame. Compatible after-market axle is Robert Axle Project LIG 527 – request 5mm spacer when ordering. Ritchey also has a compatible axle.
Rear Thru Axle 12mm x 1.5mm thread pitch, overall length 175mm, included w/ frame. Compatible after-market axle is Robert Axle Project LIG 604.
Rack and Fender Fitment Multiple on fork and frame, fender mounts
Water bottle mounts Three on 15″, 16″, 18″; four on 20″ and 22″. Triple “anything” cage mounts on both fork legs and on bottom side of down tube.
Fenders Yes. Maximum fender/tire width for 29″ wheels – approximately 60mm/2.0″. Maximum fender/tire width for 27.5″ wheels – approximately 60mm/2.2″
Frame Saver? All frames are coated inside and out with a corrosion resistant black electrophoretic deposition (BED) coating. A frame saver spray isn’t necessary, but if you are going to ride in a wet area, a shot of Frame Saver™ or Boeshield® couldn’t hurt, especially in the lower part of the frame were moisture could collect.
Frame/Fork Weight 18″ frame with all the bolts, seat clamp, and thru-axle – 5lbs. 11oz. Fork with all the bolts and thru-axle – 3lbs. 7oz. Add or subtract a few ounces for each smaller or larger size.
