Black Mountain Cycles & Café

It’s time to let the proverbial cat out of the bag – the cat that’s hopped up on caffeine and baked goods. Anyone who knows me, knows I do love me a good cup of black coffee and bakery items. Therefore, it’s perfectly natural that I announce the opening of Black Mountain Cycles & Café.

Yep, you heard that right. I’ve been working hard to create a space where I can offer only the finest individually crafted pour over coffee and artisanal scones baked in an oven crafted from melted down cantilever brakes. The secretly sourced whole coffee beans will be hand ground by crushing the beans one at a time to a perfect grain size on my workbench with a locally sourced hammer. This will ensure that all cups be infused with that special mixture of bike shop essence. The coffee has been tested and consumed over the past 10 years to make sure it was perfect before opening the café. Notes of Triflow and Loctite are evident and you’ll be refreshed as each cup finishes with a hint of Stan’s.

The first bakery item will be an Orange Seal and chocolate chip scone. Because an oven made with melted down cantilever brakes is approximately the size of an Easy-Bake Oven, the scones will be baked and offered one at a time. Patience will be required, but worth it, as the addition of the Orange Seal will seal you up tighter than a frog’s… You get the idea. The Orange Seal and chocolate chip scone will also be offered in freeze-dried form for bike packing because being sealed up tighter than a frog’s… Well, let’s just say you won’t have to worry about if you want to bury it or pack it out.

That’s it. First day of business is today, April 1, 2018. The café will be open every first Sunday of months beginning with a vowel.
