It means that the rim well profile is such that it has this shelf at the bead that helps lock a tire bead in place. With the addition of tire sealant, this means you can run your tires without tubes. And that means you can run lower tire pressure without the risk of pinch flats. Lower pressure – better traction, more comfort.
