Mod Zero Update #1

I sent out the first update on the Mod Zero frame on Monday to the folks who are on the notification list. If you’d like to be on the list, send me an email through the contact page and I’ll add your email. Promise the only emails you’ll receive are updates to the Mod Zero production, order process, and ultimately, arrival. The list gets the information several days in advance of a blog post, so there’s incentive there to get on the list.

Here’s what I sent out on Monday:

I hope ya’ll are doing well. This is the first update on the Mod Zero frame production. I usually provide updates only when I have new info on the frame production and arrival. This one will be short.

Frame production is still slated for March. This means that they’ll be painted and boxed probably early April and shipped mid-April. My best guess as to when I’ll receive them is sometime mid-May. Could be extended to early June.

Frame price will be $1195, same as the La Cabra. Framesets will include seat collar, thru-axles, and an extra derailer hanger. If you recall, the Mod Zero will have a replaceable aluminum hanger and I’m including a spare for that “just in case” scenario.

Colors will be Signal Yellow and Go Green as shown below with color codes. At this time, I’m not sure when the order window will open, probably once the frames are in a container and on the water in May. I’ll update that info when it’s known.

If anyone is looking to have a complete bike built or wheels built for a frame, reply back and we can get the ball rolling on that. It’s looking like parts are more readily available these days. I’m working on a couple of build options. There are a lot of possibilities for different builds with this frame. Here’s what I’m thinking:
Shimano GRX double and/or 1x
SRAM Rival 1×11 or 1×12 w/ the Ratio Technologies conversion
SRAM Rival AXS wireless 1×12 speed

There’s a few hundred folks on this list, so if y’all reply back, remember it’s just me here so it may take me a while to reply back to specific questions. I’ve tried to address all potential questions with the info on the website, so check the Mod Zero page on the website out before asking what the seat post size is ; )
