La Cabra Flat Bar Builds

La Cabra and Monstercross frames were received a couple of months ago. A 40′ container full of frames pulled up to the shop early one morning and with the help of a couple of friends, all frames were unloaded and organized in the shop and my storage spaces within a few hours. With that work done, I set to shipping all the early orders and then building the few bikes that were on order.

A few completes because sourcing parts has still, after 2 years, been difficult. The La Cabra is designed as a drop bar bike and the road controls have been in very short supply. I’ve had some Shimano controls on backorder for over a year and the ETA is now showing 2023. But, La Cabra can also be built with flat bars and work just as well. I’ve seen pics of a few La Cabras folks have built with flat bars and thought, well, let’s see what’s available.

I was able to source some parts and with what I had in stock have put together a couple of flat bar build kits. One for 27.5″ wheels and one for 29″ wheels. I’ve already got the wheels built and the parts are ready to build into a La Cabra for you! The spec list with price is below. There are no substitutions except as noted because it was tough enough to simply get these parts. Crank length (170mm or 175mm) and stem length are fit to the rider. One item that could be changed is the brake system. Either build option could have either the TRP mechanical or a Shimano hydraulic brake system. Price will differ if you want a different brake system than what is shown.

I have all frame sizes in stock and should be able to have a complete bike built within a few days for you. If you’d like a La Cabra built for you, reach out to me by phone during shop hours or email anytime.
