Sorry, this is about seat bags and how they attach to seats. Why is it that some folks can’t figure out how to install a seat bag? When the bag is purchased, the straps are pretty much in place according to how the strap should wrap around the bag. But yet, the new bag owner seems to invariably take a short cut and loop the straps only around the seat rails leaving the bag to sway with the movement of the bike.
One of the “repairs” I’ll make to any bike, free of charge, is correctly installing a seat bag.

Heh, heh! Yeah…I do that to.
As for why folks do that: I think people assume that it is just the way the bags are packaged for display, and not an example to follow. So they fumble around and follow the path of least resistance.
Could it be that sales people should point this sort of stuff out?
Probably worse is the likelihood that their helmets are adjusted the same way. But I have to admit that I’m guilty of taking my nephew out for a ride without realizing that he put his helmet on backward. Yes he crashed when it slipped over his eyes.
Why did you do that to my bike? I like it to sway when I hammer! 😉
I have photographically documented probably hundreds of incorrectly attached seatbags. I always say I'm starting a blog, but never do. One day…
