I added a Custom Wheels page to the website quite a while ago. Then I promptly left it blank for many months. Been meaning add info to that page for quite some time and the inspiration finally hit me this morning. Well, inspiration and realizing I’d neglected that page on the site. There you have it. If you’re in the market for some custom, hand-built wheels, drop me a line.

thoughts on the Pacenti sl23/velocity a23/dyad/fusion etc?
a clydesdale wants to know which clincher 32H rims to go with after 15yrs of sew-ups for 28mm tires, country roads and wooded shortcuts.
Tim, the two rims I would recommend for you are either the HED Belgium rim or the DT Swiss RR440. The HED is wider than the DT. The RR440 is wider than their other rims (RR415 or the Mavic Open Pro). The RR440 is available in an asymmetric design that helps to reduce dish in back. The Pacenti is the widest of the crop of wide road rims and I'd throw that on in with the HED and RR440.
The Dyad would work if you were a wheel destroyer as it's application is more towards touring or a rim brake 29er. The A23 is also nice, but it's a bit lighter than the others.
dyads are not particularly heavy, especially compared to mavic rims, and are good strong budget rims that should last a while. Unless you live in the pacific northwest and use them to commute in the winter, in which case they last a year or two.

Agree. The Dyad is a really nice rim. Good value, decent weight, can accommodate tires from road width up to 29"ers.

It's all relative, Jelly. Custom wheels mean you can combine virtually any combination of hub/rim/spoke/nipple to exactly suit each person and their bike. More expensive than machine built wheels – yes.
