Been getting regular reports from Taiwan of my frame production. The samples I’ve been riding for a while are pretty spot on with a couple of minor revisions I made for the production frames. The road frame’s rear tire clearance was a bit too tight for the Jack Brown 33.3 tire so I increased the chainstay length a touch and added some clearance to the inside of the stays. Judging from the photos I received during a fit and function test they did by making a 50cm frame (the smallest frames always seem to more potential issues than the larger frames because everything is just crunched down to fit into a smaller package), painting it, and then assembling parts on it to make sure everything fit.
So far, so good. I had sent a set of Jack Brown tires to them a while back so they could verify clearance. Unfortunately, they were lost. They used a 32c Kenda Small Block 8 tire to check clearances and, yep, they got it. Makes me wonder about another potential use for the road bike pictured with 32 ‘cross tires. Hmmm……

The cross frame is coming along nicely too. I gave them the okay to go ahead with production last night. Waiting to hear about the delivery date, but all systems are go and I’ll have a bunch of frames soon. The first shipment will be 25 road and 25 cross frames in all sizes. There are some pre-order reservations so if you’re thinking about one and want to ensure you get your color choice, feel free to call or e-mail, let me know what you want and we’ll work out a deposit or payment and reserve a frame for you. I’m working on a few parts kits for each frame and will post that soon.

Looking good there Mike. Is there enough clearance to fit a fender and the bigger tires, or is it 28c and fenders, 35c without?
Good question, Ben. Not sure. I think the limiting factor is the brake caliper. Maybe with the Tektro BM57 brakes. I'll sure check when they come in. I do know for sure 28's with fenders.
I'm a new reader to your blog, but have loved the few articles that I've read here today. Good stuff!
I had to link you up to my blog. You see too many cool bikes!
