Cross frame update…

By blackmountaincycles,

Got word a few weeks ago that the newest run of cross frames was ready for paint.  Last night, I got an e-mail with a teaser shot of some finished painted frames and they should be on the water soon with arrival by the end of January.  Three of the frames will be in the hands of their new owners sooner with two frames going to customers in Taiwan and one in Japan that are being send direct from the factory.  The rest will be making a slow trip across the Pacific.  For now, all I have is this photo, but rest assured, the folks who ordered the custom colors (light blue, champagne, root beer) will have theirs too.  For now, here’s the orange, green, and gray.

    That is an amazingly clean factory, even if it is the paint area. Lovin' the green. Is the orange the same as the last batch?

    Do the new frames have larger drop?

    I only check out your blog occasionally and haven't heard you opine on canti vs. discs. I switched to discs myself and will never go back. Any thought to a disc Taiwan production run?

    Alex, my personal preference for where and how I ride is for rim brakes. I'm sure that I'll have a disc brake option at sometime in the future, but I need to be more excited about them for cross bikes. I'll bet once I test the new Shimano hydraulic/electronic system, I'll be excited.

    @Alex,
    Good lord above, may Floyd save us all. Canti vs. discs is a dead horse if ever there was. I like the disc trend because I get the trickle-down sweet rolling components that are "passe". Thanks Duder!
