What’s in the stand…

This really nice Breezer Panorama tandem (it might be one of a kind) stopped by recently on a ride. I noticed the rear brake didn’t have enough spring tension to keep the cable taut whilst the brake was not on. While the owner was at lunch, I did a quick brake job and got the spring tension boosted so the pads actually opened up away from the rim when the brakes were not applied. Dig the classic paint and the way the head tube gusset blends into the paint spear. Very nice!

Holy Moley! I've never seen one of those before. It would be interesting to ask who crafted it, etc.

    Nice rig!

Well, then you've seen this one because there is only one. It was, according to an e-mail from Joe, built by Breezer bikes in 1993.

I believe two of these were built possibly. That’s just my recollection. This may be the one we used in the catalog. I helped Joe finish the frame (meaning I held stuff handed him things and sanded it) which was designed by Joe, jigged by Ibis in Sebastopol and detailed by Joe… then painted in East Bay. They’re supposed to be a drum brake rear hub and a extra drum brake operated by a thumb shifter. We finished it summer late 1992 for the catalog.-Pippin, woodacre, ca.
