As a follow up to this post, here’s the completed 1990 Potts CCR. Turned out really nice. It’s also destined to be a rider as well instead of a top shelf queen. The parts are nice Suntour XC Pro/Comp with Dia-Compe 986 brakes. It sure is nice that Dia-Compe still makes those straddle cables.

I think the pink turned out really nice. Gets me thinking that I might want a pink bike sometime in the future. But, ya gotta be fast to be pedalin’ a pink bike and I ain’t that fast no more. I could get it back, though.

Gotta get that shim lined up just so to the stem gap.

One thing I learned oh so long ago from Chuck at Pacific Coast Cycles is how to “dial in” a bike and this CCR is dialed in.

Also had a quick shifter lube to a big man-sized Merlin Newsboy that was in not too long ago for a front wheel build around a custom Charlie Cunningham/Hi-E 118mm front hub.

I have an original Steve Potts that is Pink and purple.
Rides as good today as when I bought it.
