CAN I GET A FRAME IN A CUSTOM PAINTED COLOR?
No, frames arrive to me painted and ready to ship. Well, ready to ship after I prep each frame.
WHAT DO YOU DO TO PREP THE FRAME BEFORE SHIPPING?
All frames arrive to me with the head tubes and bottom brackets chased and faced prior to painting. I always run a tap in the bb shell to make sure a bottom bracket will thread in with no issue. I general don’t face the frames as that process was done prior to paint and taking paint off down to bare metal only exposes the bare metal to moisture. If you ask for the frame to be faced, I will face it, but it won’t be done as a general rule. Prepping the frame includes installing the cable stops on the road frame and barrel adjusters, front derailleur roller, and dropout adjusters on the monster cross frame. I also thrown in a wheel to make sure it fits up properly and to check the derailleur hanger alignment.
CAN YOU SEND ME SOME TOUCH-UP PAINT?
Because of the unique shipping requirements to ship paint (it’s a royal pain in the butt to send paint), no. Paint chips, to me are battle scars that are worn proudly. If you really need to cover up a chip/scratch, it’s likely a hobby shop will have something close or there may be a fingernail polish that will work too.
I CRASHED MY BIKE AND NEED TO REPLACE IT. DO YOU HAVE A CRASH REPLACEMENT POLICY?
Not officially, but if this happens to you, contact me and we’ll work something out.
DO YOU HAVE ANY SCRATCH AND DENTS ON SALE?
Not likely. If I do they will be posted on the blog and amended when sold.
I DON’T LIVE IN THE UNITED STATES. DO YOU SHIP FRAMES INTERNATIONALLY?
Yes, but provisionally. The only affordable shipping method is via USPS in a carton that is under 108 combined inches. This means my 56cm frame can ship – maybe the 58 if I can squeeze it into a 56cm frame box. Generally, it’s affordable to ship to Canada, Mexico, and Western Europe. Anywhere else, shipping is simply too expensive. Sorry Aussies, I’ve tried to get frames to you and your Kiwi neighbors, but shipping costs almost as much as the frame. And I won’t undervalue the frame cost to help with import duty and tax.
I’M NOT SURE WHAT SIZE I NEED. CAN YOU HELP WITH SIZING?
Absolutely! Please check out the sizing page for complete sizing info.
CAN I TOUR AROUND THE WORLD ON THE CROSS BIKE?
I wouldn’t. The cross frame is not designed as a touring frame. A week or so, but it’s not ideal for multi-week/month/year touring. Why? The tubing of the frame is thinner wall for superior ride quality when unencumbered. The chainstays are also short for a touring bike so it’s likely your heels will hit rear panniers. Go out for a fun weekend or a week or two.
CAN I ADD RACKS TO THE ROAD FRAME?
The rear eyelet on the dropout is designed only as a fender mount. It’s not sufficiently robust enough to support a rear rack and its load.
CAN I BUY A FRAME WITOUT THE FORK?
Yes. The price is the same as the price with the frame/fork and you get a free fork to do with as you wish. Round about way of saying, no. All frames are sold with the fork.
