For those who may want to see more Potts 2-tone paint schemes. This is a friend’s bike who bought it new back in the day.

That stem is outrageous, what a bike.

  2. blackmountaincycles says:

It's a JP Morgen hydraulically damped suspension stem. Much more sophisticated than an Allsop Softride stem.

  3. Antoine says:

My friend has a shiny gold Softride that I would like to try on my Cross-Check as I ride it off-road a lot, but it is too long & low for use with drops.

I had a full Morgen beam bike purchased from Howell @ Fresh Air back in 89/90(?)…the stem on my rig was an earlier generation than later production stem pictured…(mine = coil spring)…I noticed later versions out on the trail moving to the pictured hydro – I bet they worked a lot better + that clamp on top…never saw that?!….any chance of a JP stem re-issue?

Maybe I'm seeing things Mike, but isn't that 3 colors?

Busted! Actually, there's also a 4th in there too in the form of a nice charcoal color that fades into the black.
